Native of Little Rock and lifelong horse breeder, was born into an artistic family. Diana developed an early interest in clay and took pottery at the Arkansas Arts Center in the 1970’s. Experimenting with many mediums over the years, it wasn’t until the late 1990’s that she rediscovered her early attraction to clay as a medium. Under the tutelage of Kevin Kresse, she moved to sculpting: she had finally found the form for the medium she had always been attracted to. It was at UALR that she cast her first bronze using the lost wax method. Ms. Ashley has exhibited her work in the Arkansas Arts Center, the Oval Gallery, Art After Hours and the Christopher Scott Studio. Her pieces are part of a growing number of private collections.
